Day 162 | Brasov to Bucharest
After being in Brasov for three months, it was a little hard to leave. We never would have guessed that we would have ridden out a worldwide pandemic in Romania. Crazy!
It really worked out so well though. This town was perfect for us to stay in. As frustrating as it was some days to be stuck there, it truly ended up being perfect for us.
One last picture in our Brasov apartment! What a special place!
All packed up and walking out the door. I cropped out our sweet neighbor sticking her head out the window for her privacy. She knew we were leaving and I think she was waiting by the window so she could see us off. There is so much I want to say about the people here. I’m saving that for later in a separate post.
Back to our system of travel day’s!
Nathan, Abigail, and Anna in their Uber to the train station.
Naomi and I waiting at the train station for the others to arrive.
Buying train tickets.
Waiting at the train station for our train.
Waiting for our train.
Snacking while we wait!
When this train pulled up, I thought to myself that surely this wasn’t our train. It looks too old. But…it was.
Getting on the train.
It’s pretty long.
Once we were settled, the train didn’t seem too bad. It was actually a little nicer than the one that took us to Brasov.
Enjoying the ride. Thankfully there weren’t too many people on the train. I thought we were going to be the only ones in the car, then a man joined us. He talked to us for two complete hours. Non stop. And I could barely understand what he was saying. It was pretty frustrating at first, then I just decided to go with it and let him talk. It would have been much more interesting if I could have understood his English better. He even offered for us to stay at his apartment while he was going to be out of town. He have us his address, phone number, and detailed directions on how to get there. He was very kind, but we decided to pass on his offer:)
Train rides are usually pretty relaxing.
Along the way.
Enjoying the ride.
Walking up fourteen flights of steps to get to our new place. The elevator is small so Nathan took it up with the luggage while the girls and I took the stairs. (He would have let me take the elevator, I just didn’t want to risk getting stuck in it…it’s an old building.)
Our new apartment in Bucharest! The climb was worth it to have this nice room with high ceilings and large windows, balcony and a pretty view of the city!
When we saw the view from our apartment, we figured climbing the stairs was worth it.
It’s so nice to have more space!
