All Glory Be To Christ
The Story Behind the Hymn
All Glory Be to Christ is a song that is filled with the good news of Jesus and is a prayer that we can sing to give glory and honor to Him. The tune is Auld Lang Syne, which is an old Scottish song. The lyrics were probably a combination of written and collected words from Robert Burns, submitted in 1788. Auld Lang Syne has been around for over two hundred years and is sung often around the new year to help us celebrate the good times of the past and bring in the new year with friendship and cheer.
Dustin Kensrue had in his mind and heart that the well known tune could be used with a more meaningful purpose. Although we do not know the exact time frame or details of his writing, we do know that he set his lyrics of All Glory Be to Christ to the tune of Auld Lang Syne, and in 2012 the song was publicly released and quickly became well known in the Church.
As You Sing This Song
