Days 139 to 140 | Rest and Creativity

Last weekend we were supposed to have left Brasov and continued our journey. When we found out that our flight was canceled and decided to stay here longer, our weekend plans were all erased. It was disappointing, but our busy weekend of packing, cleaning, and rushing to make transportation times turned into rest. It felt really good. We just hung out, watched movies, and did art. I was a little surprised that the rest felt so needed. I guess keeping up with work, school, and the house is more tiring than I think. Anyway, we had a good weekend and enjoyed the down time.

We moved the desk to the sunroom and set up a painting station. Everyone enjoyed some time there! We also drew pictures for our neighbor, the girls designed house floor plans, and Abigail made a sticker page. I’m working on making a special journal for the girls too. We all had some creative outlets going on!

We made cookies, drew pictures, and wrote a note with John 3:16 for our neighbor who brought us treats last weekend. She wasn’t at home, so we will try to get them to her another day.

It’s usually really difficult to get a normal smile from the girls in pictures. I caught Naomi in the mood to made some silly faces and I had fun trying to capture them as fast as I could. I love to see all these funny faces from her.

Below are pictures from the end of our last hike. Mt. Tampa is just outside the old city walls in these pictures. The rectangle structure was a powder store tower (I’m guessing gun powder) and the round one is called the drapers bastion, used for defensive purposes. The history here is so interesting. There are ties to Hungary, Germany, Russia, Moldova, Rome, Austria, and others. There is so much to learn!
