Day 7 | Westminster Abbey and British Library
London, Day 7—On Sunday, Nathan gave the girls an art lesson...by their request.
After that we quickly visited two train stations, St. Pancras and King’s Cross.
We ate lunch at Pret a Manger (a place similar to Panera that we all love) in St. Pancras Station then we headed to the British Library. There, we saw one of the original Gutenberg Bibles, one of the four remaining copies of the Magna Carta, and other original handwritten pieces by Bach, Jane Austen, the Beatles, and Lewis Carroll.
Our last stop for the day was Westminster Abbey (this is where king and queen coronations have been held) where we listened to an organ concert. I only have pictures of the outside of the abbey since photos are not allowed inside. It was a really neat experience and I always think of Nathan’s mom when we hear an organ play...she plays the organ.
At last, it’s always nice to get “home” at the end of the day. We usually stop by a little grocery store on our way home to get dinner and breakfast. Then eat and relax until bedtime. We’re getting in a good routine:)
I can get a little star struck by the people, items, and places that we are learning about and seeing. They are all pretty amazing to see, but I have to remember there is only One who is truly king.
“For God is the King of all the earth; sing praises with a psalm!” - Psalm 47:7 (ESV)
