Days 155 and 156 | Last Days of School

Adjustments.jpeg

Homeschooling has looked a little different than what I expected it to look like this semester. We ended up having a lot more time to do schoolwork than I originally planned.

Although there were lots of tears (some days as soon as I said “school” the tears flowed lol) and ups and downs, I think it went well. There were lots of really special moments made and I will never forget this time we had together.

We had the security of a pretty good daily routine.

We had time to dream, create, and learn together.

I saw passions and interests grow in the girls that I didn’t know were so strong.

I saw the girls’ imaginations grow as they played together and visited places I didn’t know existed.

They dreamed about and made specific plans for their future as sisters.

We prayed a little bit more, read the Bible more, and talked more about Jesus.

It was such a special time. A time I will never forget. And a time I hope to not take for granted.

We wanted the girls to have an official last day of school so that we all felt some closure and could relax a little more through the last few weeks of our trip. So, we pushed ourselves for a couple of days and called it good. Learning will still take place, but the daily schoolwork is over for now.

We now have a preschooler, a fourth grader, and a fifth grader!

I’m so very proud of these girls!

Now I need to go cry.

Nathan was normally working while we did school stuff, but the last two days he helped work on some things. Here they are adding more events to our timeline.

On the evening before the last day of school, we walked to the park. We were happy to find out that it was open! It was very exciting!

Getting gelato in Old Town! We found out later that it was Romania’s Children’s Day (June 1) when they not only celebrate children in general, but bring awareness to children in need.

Every year on the last day of school I have a package of goodies for the girls to celebrate with. It looked a little different this year, but they still enjoyed the surprise!

They got some pencils, an empty notebook, stickers, a Romanian hand painted ornament, a beaded bracelet, and Skittles.
