Day 166 | National Village Museum In Bucharest
Today was such a fun day!
We started out by taking an Uber to the Dimitrie Gusti National Village Museum, an outdoor museum that displays old Romanian houses. They have brought in old homes and other buildings from around Romania to display the different kinds of architecture, building materials, and structures that have been used in the past. It was such a fun educational outdoor experience, and it almost felt like we were the only ones there.
Dodging the rain seems to be a daily activity here. We did get stuck in the rain while we were at the museum but thankfully, we found a little cafe to have a snack at until the rain slowed down. It rained on and off through the rest of our stay there, but I think that just adds to making it memorable.
We almost decided to head back home since it was raining. I’m so glad we didn’t! After visiting the gift shop at the museum, we came outside, the rain had stopped, and the sun was shining.
We ended up having a fun dinner at Hard Rock Cafe nearby, then had such a beautiful three mile walk home through parks and city streets. We walked through King Micheal I Park and Kiseleff Park. The pretty lake, the fragrant roses, and paths with people enjoying the evening ended this outing perfectly. On top of that, I loved doing it with my family.
We ended the day watching the Ninja LEGO movie. Friday nights do not go by without Movie Night.
It was such a fun, beautiful, and memorable day for me. I’m so glad we didn’t jet the rain stop us.
