Day 9 | Tower of London and Fish ‘n Chips

London, Day 9—Visiting the Tower of London and eating fish and chips were on the agenda today.

The Tower of London is an old castle (it kind of feels like a small town) that has been used as a residence for a king, a prison, and a zoo. Now it holds the Crown Jewels and other special pieces from coronation ceremonies. It also is an armory and a place the public can experience an almost magical piece of history.

We weren’t allowed to take pictures in the Crown Jewels part, but you can look them up. They were so pretty and I loved reading about the symbolism of the different pieces.

This entire place was like a walk through history and famous celebrations of the past. I think it was our favorite stop this week.

Fish and chips is a traditional English meal, so we wanted to make sure we gave it a try while we were here. It was delicious! And we are around 5:00 so we pretty much had the restaurant to ourselves!
