Day 133 | Mother’s Day In Romania
I’m so thankful to be the mom of three beautiful girls. I love to watch them grow and learn and become who God made them to be. They truly are blessings.
I woke up this morning to two super sweet notes telling me Happy Mother’s Day. The girls had gotten up before me, and on their own, made notes and pictures and had them out on the table for me to see when walked in the room. I was proud of them for being so thoughtful on their own…these notes are definitely keepers.
One of the notes said, “I love you.” This may seem like a statement that would be on any handmade Mother’s Day card, but this child doesn’t just throw around that phrase. Nathan and I have tried to teach her to be comfortable with telling her loved ones that she loves them, but it’s uncomfortable for her to do that and she rarely says it on her own. It took courage for her to write those words to me with purpose and intention. I know she meant them and I’ll cherish it forever.
The rest of the day was spent doing things we all wanted to do. We went on a walk to the citadel, watched When Calls the Heart on Netflix, played games, went to church online, had family Journal Night, and watched LEGO Batman.
Nathan made sure that we got a couple of good pictures of me and the girls. He knew that would be special to me. He also knew it would be special for me to not wash a single dish today. He made sure that happened too. I’m very thankful for his thoughtfulness, love, and leadership in making this a special day for me…and for the whole family!
