Day 168 | Packing to Leave Bucharest

Adjustments.jpeg

Finishing up some work at home, packing up, and heading to the airport hotel were on the agenda today.

Nathan painted. The girls played. I packed and enjoyed the last hours of our time in this spacious apartment. We had lunch at Pizza Hut down the street then walked home in the rain.

Tomorrow we are planning to fly to Greece. We’ve been reading and planning and researching the possibilities of one more place we could visit. Greece has been opening up for tourism and tomorrow is the first day they’re allowing U.S. citizens to visit.

Anything can happen, so we are not getting our hopes up. We keep telling the girls (and ourselves) to be flexible and that we have to just take one step at a time.

Step by step.

Day by day.

Those have been phrases that we’ve told ourselves a lot in this trip. I’m thankful we can depend on God’s guidance as we keep those words in mind.

For the most part, we’ve tried to enjoy local restaurants, but sometimes a familiar place is welcome!

We’ve started to expect a little rain each day. If we get caught in it, we know we will dry eventually:)

We’ve learned that the entrances to apartment buildings are usually not as welcoming as the apartment itself.

I’m pretty sure we were some of the very first guests since hotels were closed. We stayed here so it would be easier to get to the airport the next morning.

Romania has been an unexpected adventure on this journey. We’re so thankful for the time we had here and look forward to our next steps!
