Day 58 | Rome to Bucharest and Rome Favorite Places
Day 58, Rome—Today we left Rome and traveled to Romania. It was a pretty smooth day taking into consideration all of the Coronavirus news. You could definitely tell that people were a bit nervous about the virus...wearing masks, offering hand sanitizer, and there were many canceled flights in northern Italy. They even took our temperature as we finished going through passport check. Thankfully, we are still all feeling well and haven’t had any problems with sickness!
Before I start journaling about Romania, I wanted to share each of our favorite places in Rome.
Abigail’s favorite place was the beach. She was so excited about playing in the sand and building a sand castle! Even though this wasn’t actually in Rome, I let it pass for her favorite place:)
Naomi’s favorite place was the Colosseum. She liked it because it was big and cool and it is a famous place. She also likes round buildings and how it was lit up at night.
Anna’s favorite place was the Domitilla Catacombs. She really liked it because the history was interesting, she enjoyed walking through the paths, and our tour guide was very friendly.
Nathan’s favorite new place that we saw was Castel Sant’Angelo. It was completely different than most of the other buildings he’s visited. The experience of walking through the castle and the rooftop view were memorable for him.
My favorite place was Trajan’s Market, the old Roman building and marketplace that was turned into a museum. I really enjoyed getting to walk through hallways and rooms that were used so long ago. It really brought the history to life for me.
Rome is such an amazing city with so much history to see and experience! We can’t wait to go back!
