Day 28 | The Bernina Express to Tirano

Day 28, Chur/Tirano, Italy—This morning we woke up early and jumped on the Bernina Express, which took us on a beautiful ride through part of the Swiss Alps. At first it was hard just seeing the snow and not being able to touch it, but thankfully we had a fifteen-minute break close to our highest point in the mountains. We were able to get out, touch the snow, and breath in the crisp fresh air. The girls were so happy to get to be in the snow for a few minutes. This ride was really a treat!

When we were pulling into Tirano, I was a little nervous. The buildings I saw looked very old and run down. I was wondering what we were walking into. When we arrived to our place we were happy to be greeted by two very kind hosts and a nice place to stay. After settling in we walked around town. We even met an American family with kids who we kept running into throughout the train ride and in town. It was nice to make a connection with someone new.
